A thriving Junior Section meets on the 1st Monday at Craig-y-Nos School, Bishopston.
The Society's 100 members co-operate with members of the six other South Wales Astronomical Society's to popularise astronomy. It holds bi-monthly talks, star parties and hosts school visits to the Marina Towers which is a lunar, planetary and solar observatory with dark room and exhibition facilities.
It also has an observatory in university grounds on Fairwood Common.
During the summer the Marina Towers observatory exhibition and telescope are open to the public on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Mumbles Petanque Club
Boules is the generic term used for quite a number of games played with the steel balls. Petanque is by far the most popular of these games and is now played in more than 50 countries worldwide and on every continent.
Mumbles Petanque Club meets on Friday mornings at the Village Lane pistes, Southend, although evening games take place during the summer months.

Local people from all walks of life who are interested in the history of the surrounding area meet eight times per year from September to April.
Our current programme is featured on the History chapter and a shorter version in the Mumbles Voice section. You are very welcome at the meeting.
The Association also presents an Exhibition of Local History at Ostreme Centre during 2 weeks of the Summer, for which many members submit features. They arrange varied Displays in Oystermouth Library -throughout the year. An Annual Coach Excursion visits a site of Historical interest; this summer the excursions is to Monmouth, the Nelson Museum and Raglan Castle.
A sister society, Oystermouth History Travel Group, was formed with the aim of visiting the battlefields to remember a brave generation of local men lost in The Great War. The result of local research to date has been published in the history chapter of themumblesbook.co.uk under the section 'From Conflict to Commemoration'.
The Group displays a selection of their latest research in Oystermouth Library during the month of November. The information recorded includes the Rolls of Honour for the Mumbles area, in both World Wars and other relevant information. Copies of photographs, or any information concerning Mumbles War casualties, Veterans and local Home Guard would be welcomed.
