Since NAVY DAYS 2007 FESTIVAL concluded succesfully, the Navy Days committee of Mumbles Community Council, with the Festival Director,Cllr. Anthony Colburn have been very busy organising the programe of events ready for the 2008 Navy Days festival.
The event will have many new attractions as well well as the old favourites such as the world famous "Matchstick Fleet" which will once again feature in trhe main marquee at the Boat Park,Southend, Mumbles. Also there will be Craft demonstations and many other items of interest.You may be lucy enough to try a free tot of "Pussers Naval Rum" in the" Lamp Swinging Area".
The childerens entertainment will also feature again in Southend Gardens, with the ever popular"Punch and Judy" and many other items of fun, Also featurerd will be the Swansea Silver band and the Swansea Accordian Band..
Subject to suitable weather and tide conditions the Newfoundland dogs of the New Found Friends Team and the Royal National Lifeboat Institute will show there skill in saving life at sea.
The events programme will be published and available prior to the event and a mobile sound cabin will be on site at Southend Gardens,with Roger Warren Evans announcing details of the events during the weekend.
On Saturday evening 24th May there will be an evening of entertainment at ALL Saints Church,Oystermouth with solo artist and a well-known choir. This is an event not to be missed. And on Sunday the ever -popualr "Songs of Praise" service will take place at Knab Rock. Do come along and enjoy this family festival with a nautical theme;. We look forward of seeing you all.
