Get a grant

Criteria for awarding grants and loans:
 
1. No grant or loan shall be awarded to any group or organisation which practises racial or religious or sexual discrimination.
 
2. Requests for grants or loans shall be considered from groups and organisations that benefit the people or individuals resident in the Mumbles Community Council area.
 
3. Regional and national organisations shall be considered for grants only when they provide a service to people living in Mumbles, which is not readily available locally.
 
4. Grants should under normal circumstances be made only to groups and organisations, which are endeavouring to raise a large proportion of the required monies themselves.
 
5. Sponsorship requests will be thoroughly investigated, and if supported and approved by the Mumbles Community Council any monies will be paid to the organisation, which sponsors the event.
 
6. Following the discussion of any request, the Finance and General Purposes Committee will make a recommendation to the full Council, which body will make the final decision. (The provision of audited accounts may be required).
 
7. Where the Mumbles Community Council decides to make a grant or loan for any organised activities involving children, young people or the elderly, the Mumbles Community Council shall seek and secure assurances that the persons immediately involved have been positively vetted by the C.R.B. (Criminal Records Bureau) before monies are forwarded to the applicant.
 
8. The refusal of a grant or loan on any occasion shall not prevent any group or organisation making a subsequent application.
