Council Precept Reduction for
Second Year Running
Mumbles Councillors have reduced their budget for the second year in a row.
At its budget meeting last night the Community Council agreed a budget of £139,980 for the 2010/2011 financial year compared with £144,318 for the current year.
Taking into account statutory required contingency funds and a small budget under-spend, this will require a precept (the money required from the domestic council tax payer) of £113,684 which works out at £11.96 for the year for a Council Tax D Band payer.`
“Great effort has been made by all the council committees to keep their budget requirements to a minimum in the light of the current financial situation facing the country.” said Cllr Anthony Colburn, Chairman of the Council’s Finance & General Purposes Committee. “However, services will not be reduced and environmental improvements will continue.”
